Milbank Women’s Connection
Women’s Connection is an affiliate of Stonecroft Ministries (formerly Christian Women’s group). The Milbank Women’s Connection will meet Tuesday, August 19, at 1:30 p.m. in the Central Church Fellowship Hall. The speaker will be Patricia Bishop of Sioux Falls, with the message, “Who Am I … Why Am I Here.” The special feature will be given by Nicci Stengel with “The Calm in the Chaos.” Music will be provided by Nicci Stengel and Bob Frink. Central Book Club
The Central Book Club meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, except for the months of July and December. The group reads a book each month and gathers for discussion and treats. Anyone can join the group at no cost. Central Church provides the books. All that is asked is a free-will donation. Seasoned Citizens of Central
Gathering
The Seasoned Citizens of Central is specifically designed to provide ministry for persons living within the more senior years of their lives. The group meets once a month for a planned gathering that is built around the interests of the more senior people. Rolls and coffee are served in addition to hymn singing of gospel songs.
The Seasoned Citizens of Central will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, August 14, at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Watch for more information coming soon. Please call the Church Office, 432-4766, if you would like a ride.
Weekly Men’s Evening Bible Study

Wednesday Night Activities Schedule
Lots of activities take place on Wednesday Nights at Central Church during the school year! There is a full line-up of activities for EVERYONE!
Middle School and High School Youth Group:
Middle School Youth Group takes place from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall and Youth Room on Wednesdays. The high school youth will meet from 6:00 - 7:15 p.m. in the Youth Room! Bring a friend!!
Wednesday Night Meal:
Wednesday Night meals are served beginning at 5:15 p.m. each week in the Fellowship Hall. The meal is provided for a free-will donation. This year, in an effort to promote community and fellowship, there will be NO to-go meals. We would love to have you come and eat with us!
JAM (Jesus and Me):
We are very excited to announce a new format for our JAM programs for the elementary students this year! JAM stands for Jesus and Me and takes place on Wednesdays. This is a time for preschool through 5th grade age children to come take part in fun, Christian activities which are an extension of the Sunday School program.
JAM 45: is a NEW group intended for the 4th and 5th grade students to bond together, build closer relationships, and dive deeper into their faith. They will meet on Wednesdays from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. at the church. Ginny Tostenson will pick up these students from Milbank Elementary School at 3:00 p.m. every Wednesday.
JAM JR.: will then take place at the normal time from 6:00 – 7:15 p.m. downstairs and will be for children ages 3 through 3rd grade! This will give this group of children a chance to be leaders of their group and have the activities tailored more for their age! This is also a time for parents to bring their children and get involved in the various Wednesday Night adult Bible studies. There will be homework help available during this time for the 4th and 5th graders who are waiting for their younger siblings to participate in JAM Jr. We pray you will get your children involved in these exciting programs!
Got(d) Questions format:
Pastor Thom is going to use a different format for his Wednesday night Got(d) Questions each week. He will be leading various Bible studies during this time beginning at 6:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
We are looking forward to seeing the church full on Wednesday Nights!
Kids Hope Back-to-School Family Picnic
ALL Kids Hope students, their families, mentors and prayer partners are invited to a back-to-school family picnic on Monday, August 11, at 5:30 p.m. in the Central Church Fellowship Hall. This will be a time to catch up with one another and get reacquainted before the new school year begins! Please RSVP to Ginny Tostenson, 605-949-0832, by Thursday, August 7!
VBS Recap Sunday
Sunday, July 27, will be Vacation Bible School Recap Sunday. During both the 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. Worship Services, you will get a taste of what took place all week at VBS! The services will include the kids sharing a couple of songs, watching a highlight video with all the children featured, seeing a glimpse of the daily drama skits that wrapped up each day, as well as additional fun things that took place during this amazing and life-transforming week! Come see what VBS was all about! PARENTS – make sure your kids attend both services so they can share their songs!
High School Senior Silver Ceremony
Levi Waddell, Youth Coordinator, will host a Silver Ceremony for this year’s high school seniors (Class of 2026) AND their parents on Wednesday, July 30, at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We want to celebrate all that has happened during your time with Central Church and youth group. Levi will discuss and plan how to make your senior year the best one yet! A meal will be provided! Please RSVP to Levi ASAP for a food head count!
Guadalupe Food Truck Youth Fundraiser
The middle and high school youth of Central Church collected offerings during the school year to go towards high schoolers Hector Padilla and Keaton Johnson who are both battling cancer. In addition to those offerings, the youth will host a food truck fundraiser on Tuesday, August 5, and Wednesday, August 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Guadalupe’s will place their food truck in the Central Church parking lot. They will donate 25% of the food sales on those days to add to the offerings. The Fellowship Hall and bathrooms will be open for use during those times. Everyone is invited to come have a great meal in support of the youth!
Incoming 6th Graders Air Madness Trip
To help celebrate the “jump” from 5th grade into 6th grade and into Middle School youth group, Central Church will take the 6th grade youth to Air Madness in Harrisburg on Wednesday, August 13. The group will depart at 8:30 a.m. Upon arriving in Sioux Falls, the group will eat and then continue to Harrisburg to jump at Air Madness from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. They will then head for home. Students may be picked up at Central at 4:30 p.m. Lunch and Air Madness admission will be covered by the church! Students may bring extra spending money if they wish. Please let Levi Waddell or Ginny Tostenson know if your child will be attending by Wednesday, August 6. A permission form MUST be signed and turned in by the deadline. Youth, if you have friends who do NOT have a home church and are looking to join a youth group, please invite them to come along! Everyone is welcome! Ice Cream “Sunday”
Central Church will be hosting Ice Cream “Sunday” on Sunday, July 27, from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. The church staff will serve soft serve ice cream with all the toppings. Come enjoy a tasty treat!!
LAST Middle School and High School Summer Gathering
Youth Coordinator, Levi Waddell, invites ALL youth in last year’s grades 6-12 to the LAST informal summer youth gathering of this summer. It will take place Sunday, August 3, at 6:00 p.m. More information will be coming soon! Invite a friend!
Confirmation Meetings
All 8th grade youth and their parents are invited to a Confirmation meeting on Wednesday, August 6, at 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Youth will get their Confirmation materials and meet their mentors. Dates for the 3 retreats will also be decided, so please bring your calendars! ALL mentors will meet in the Sanctuary prior to this meeting on Wednesday, August 6, at 6:15 p.m. to go over the material and instructions.
