Wednesday Night JAM (Jesus And Me)
Wednesday Night Activities run throughout the school year. These activities are an opportunity to be fed both physically and spiritually.
The evening begins with a meal at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for everyone! Children ages three through grade 5 take part in JAM beginning at 6:00 p.m. while adults may participate in various small groups at 6:15 p.m. The evening wraps up at 7:15 p.m.
JAM stands for "Jesus and Me."
During JAM time, children meet downstairs in "JAM Central" to play games, do activities, make crafts, and sing songs. We try to do a big event/activity once per month. These have included: taking a prayer bike ride around Milbank, attending the Fall Festival, delivering treat plates to our neighbors around town, and participating in Wacky Olympics.
Central Church has a staffed nursery available for children birth through five years of age during all Sunday Worship Services and Wednesday Night Activities. Hours are as follows:
Sundays - 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Wednesdays - 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School takes place each summer with a different theme for the week. VBS is for children from age 3 through grade 5, and typically runs for 2-3 hours in the evening for five night during the week.
Summer Bible Camp
Central Church encourages all children to attend summer Bible camp at one of the three Methodist camp sites - Lake Poinsett, Storm Mountain, and Wesley Acres. Central helps pay a portion of one camp per camper for the summer. A Camp Carnival is held at Central Church each spring to help raise money for camp scholarships each year.
Kids Helping Kids
The Kids Helping Kids program was created by Central Church. This program helps families in need in our community who may be struggling with health, loss, and other things.Central hosts a Pirate Party each spring to help fund this program. Please contact Pastor Kristy Liebe for more information.
Kids Hope USA builds life-changing relationships one at a time: One Child. One Hour. One School. One Church. Central Church trains mentors and matches them up with children within the area schools to provide these meaningful relationships. Please contact Pastor Kristy Liebe for more information.
The Milbank Backpack Program is essential to families in Milbank and the surrounding area. It provides weekend meals for children who might otherwise go hungry during the school year. The program also operates in the summertime. The program provides food for 150+ students each year, and is run completely by volunteers. Please contact Jenn Falk at 605-467-3293 for more information.
