The Chosen - Season 2 - Bible Study

SEASON TWO OF “THE CHOSEN” BIBLE STUDY: Season 2 of “The Chosen” TV series and Bible study will take place on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. beginning Thursday, April 4, in the Youth Room. We will again begin with a light pot-luck style meal while watching each episode.

This study works in tandem with each episode of the show and includes a deeper look at God’s character, power, and promises using the framework of Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount, scripture to provide lesson context, conversational features to invite Bible knowledge, guiding questions for group or individual discussion or reflection. Once we belong to Him, we’re not only given a new identity; we’re ushered into a new reality—one that is sure, powerful, and life changing. And so — We have hope no matter our circumstances. We have assurances and resources even in life’s trials, and we are blessed in all things because we are chosen by Him.

This study is for men AND women and will be facilitated by Ginny Tostenson. It is open to anyone! You do NOT have to attend Central! Cost of the book and materials is $15.00. If you cannot afford the fee, please still sign up, and the church will cover it! Deadline to sign up is Thursday, March 28!

Untangle Your Emotions Bible Study - By Jennie Allen

UNTANGLE YOUR EMOTIONS BIBLE STUDY BY JENNIE ALLEN: What does the Bible tell us about our emotions? Does the Bible really tell us that our emotions are untrustworthy? God made us to feel our emotions, to examine and share them—not manage or suppress them. We can learn what it means to live emotionally healthy lives from studying Jesus’ life and how He cared for and responded to the people around Him. Join Jennie Allen for the “Untangle Your Emotions” Bible Study as she helps you discover that emotions that are submitted to God and used for the purposes God intends connect us to each other and to Him. This six-session study will equip you to: Be encouraged through the examples of emotion in Scripture by God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Identify the unhealthy ways you might be coping with emotions. Learn a biblical step-by-step method to help you process, name, and notice what you are feeling. Move from apathetic to articulate when it comes to sharing what you feel.

This study will take place on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. in the Heritage Room. It will be facilitated by Nicci Stengel and is open to ANYONE! You do NOT have to attend Central! The cost of the study guide is $25. If you cannot afford the fee, please still sign up, and the church will cover it! The sign-up deadline is Monday, April 1!

Don’t Give the Enemy A Seat At Your Table Bible Study

DON’T GIVE THE ENEMY A SEAT AT YOUR TABLE BIBLE STUDY: Our minds spinning seemingly out of control with thoughts that are not only unproductive, but potentially destructive and harmful. These thoughts are not of God. No, they’re from the Enemy lurking, ready to seize any opportunity to lie his way into your mind and claim control over your life. But God has other plans for you, better plans, where you can experience intimacy, rest, and joy beyond your circumstances. In Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table Pastor Louie Giglio uses Psalm 23 as a framework to offer biblical insight on how to: Cancel the lies that will wreck your life and take the empowering steps to live fully alive in Christ; Stop the spiral of shame, temptation, and insecurity; Restore peace and rest in your life; Embrace the true purpose behind your journey through challenging circumstances; Break free from the endless cycle of destructive thinking and recapture your freedom to your thoughts and emotions. These things are possible if you allow Jesus, the Shepherd, to lead the battle for your mind and heart.

This study, for men AND women, will take place on Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m. beginning Wednesday, April 24, in the Heritage Room and will be facilitated by Jena Schulte. This study is open to ANYONE! You do NOT have to attend Central! Cost of the book and study guide together is $35.00. If you cannot afford this, please sign up anyway!
